Public Event Disclaimer for Guelph & District Multicultural Festival
By entering and attending the Guelph & District Multicultural Festival (the “Festival”), you acknowledge and agree that your attendance is voluntary and that you assume all risks associated with participation in a public outdoor event. Such risks may include, but are not limited to, personal injury, illness, property damage or loss, crowd-related incidents, slips, trips and falls, weather-related hazards, food-related risks, and the actions of other attendees. You accept full responsibility for your own safety and personal property while attending the Festival.
In consideration of being permitted to attend the Festival, you agree to release and discharge the Festival organizers, volunteers, staff, vendors, sponsors, performers, the venue owners and operators, and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, successors, and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, demands, damages, actions, or causes of action arising out of or in any way connected to your attendance at or participation in the Festival, except to the extent prohibited by law. This release includes claims relating to personal injury, property damage, economic loss, or death arising from risks associated with the Festival.
You further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims or liabilities arising from your own acts or omissions while attending the Festival, including failure to comply with posted rules, signage, or instructions from event staff or security personnel. The Festival reserves the right to remove any person who engages in unsafe, unlawful, or disruptive behaviour or who brings prohibited items onto the premises.
By attending the Festival, you consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded in connection with the event and grant the Festival organizers the right to use such images or recordings for promotional, marketing, or archival purposes without compensation. This disclaimer shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
